MoonLight Production: Spring 2026

This is a Full Broadway length production

This intriguing and beautiful folk opera delivers a deeply resonant and defiantly hopeful theatrical experience. Following two intertwining love stories – that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of immortal King Hades and lady Persephone – Hadestown invites audiences on a journey to the underworld and back. Inspired by traditions of classic American folk music and vintage New Orleans jazz, Mitchell’s beguiling sung-through musical pits industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love.

Not all who audition will be cast.

After auditions and callbacks, directors will place cast members into Cast H and Cast T. If your student can only participate in one cast, there will be an opportunity to note that at auditions, and such requests will be accommodated. If you do not request a specific cast, there may be more opportunity for your student. We do this because we have to make sure, with full Broadway shows, that the casts are as balanced as possible with ages and experience.

Students may register for any other Ao1 production in addition to Hadestown and may choose to drop that registration if cast in Hadestown. Ao1 will transfer your deposit for that show to your Hadestown tuition balance if notified within 24 hours of the posting of the cast list. Tuition balance must be paid within 24 hours of casting.

Auditions: 1/8 or 1/9

Callbacks: 1/10

First Rehearsal: 1/11 - Sundays 3:30-8:30pm

Tech Rehearsals Cast H: 3/28 9am-4:30pm; 3/30, 3/31, 4/1 4:30-8:30pm

Performances Cast H: 4/2, 4/3, 4/4 (Thur, Fri, & Sat, 4 shows)

Tech Rehearsals Cast T: 4/6 1pm-8:30pm (Monday); 4/7 & 4/8 4:30-8:30pm

Performances Cast T: 4/9, 4/10, 4/11 (Thur, Fri, & Sat, 4 shows)

Tuition - $525
(Plus a $25 non-refundable Audition Fee and a $25 refundable script deposit - scripts must be returned for this production.)

Payment Options

2 - Full tuition paid upfront (50% non-refundable/non-transferable)

3 - HADESTOWN - $125 ($25 audition fee non-refundable; $100 deposit refundable if not cast; non-refundable/non-transferable if cast) with tuition balance due within 24 hours of casting

Costume Fee - We provide one costume for every cast member with a $15 fee for every additional costume. If you don't want your student to be cast in multiple roles, you must tell us at auditions.

Scholarships

Scholarship applications are available here. A 50% deposit is still required. For more information on scholarships, please contact lgelley@ao1theater.org ASAP. Deadline is 12/19/25 for scholarship consideration for Spring 2026.

Discounts

Sibling discounts will be applied when applicable. 10% off the lowest tuition for the third child and 20% off the fourth, fifth, etc.

Audition Help

AO1 REFUND POLICY

Full refunds maybe requested:

Within 72 hours of when the student was registered;
At least 4 weeks prior to the workshop, camp or the first auditions of a session.

Partial refunds will exclude the non-refundable deposit per person, per session/workshop/camp and may be requested:

Up to one week prior to the workshop, camp or the first auditions of a session. Nightlight is first rehearsal, not audition.
These refunds exclude the non-refundable deposit per person, production, workshop, or camp.

No refunds will be given within 1 week prior to the first auditions of the session or class.

*All requests must be in writing and refunds will be issued during the second week of rehearsals.

*If a family has previously requested a refund per this policy, it will be necessary for that family to pay for future Audience of One Youth Theater (“Ao1”) sessions in full, in order to secure a spot. Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation involving this policy.

* Absolutely NO REFUNDS are given after auditions/classes have begun for the session.

* Ao1 will offer no refunds for drops, cancellations, or postponements.
