Storytelling: Creating magic with every line.

Are you a blossoming writer? Come join us for this fun and unique class!

Ages 8-18

In this course, students will learn how to create stories over different platforms! Each class will cover a different topic, from the basics of a good story to writing plays to writing films to writing songs to writing musical numbers! The first half of class will be instruction on how it should look, and the second half will be students taking what they've learned and creating their own pieces of art. On our final day, students will choose their favorite story and present it to the class (either as a song or musical number they will sing, or a film or play that we will table read as a class).

Days:

1 - Basics of Storytelling

Teach: How to start a story, how to end a story, and what goes in between, etc.

Workshop: Basic storylines

2 - Plays

Teach: the outline of a play, what makes a play great, introducing setting, etc.

Workshop: write your own 1 to 3 page plays!

3 - Musical number songwriting

Teach: how to write a story on a beat, how to choose a key, the very basics of music theory, etc.

Workshop: write your own 1-3 min musical number!

4 - Films

Teach: the outline of a film, the difference between film writing and playwriting, shot writing, etc.

Workshop: write a 1-3 min film!

5 - Songwriting

Teach: telling stories from the middle, how to write a hook, over explaining and under explaining, when to know you're done, etc.

Workshop: write a 1-3 min song!

6 - Presentation day!

Let's see what you've created!

Voice Class

Vocal Techniques

Ages 8-18

Voice Class – Find Your Voice, Share Your Song

In our Voice Class, students will develop healthy vocal technique, strengthen their singing skills, and grow in confidence as soloists and ensemble performers. Through fun warm-ups, breath control exercises, and song study, students learn how to care for their voice and use it expressively, whether on the stage or in everyday life.

Taught in a supportive, faith-filled environment, this class explores vocal performance through a variety of musical styles, with a special emphasis on musical theater. Students will gain tools to improve pitch, tone, diction, and projection, while learning to interpret lyrics with clarity and emotion.
